-MYSTERIES JUST SEEM TO CONTINUE TO PREVAIL-

I came up from the old days. When a person's honor meant something! We agreed on a handshake!

This is why I hate to see so many people being taken advantage of by some pet shippers. And, really upsets me to see military people being taken in by these shysters.  Being offered discounts by those whose charges are so over the line to begin with!

We ship, or help ship, many pets to Okinawa (OKA).

By far the very best route is:  United from San Francisco to Osaka, connects to All Nippon to Naha.  Any experienced pet shipper will know that to avoid Narita at ALL cost!  Yet, most so called 'expert' pet shippers continue to route thru Tokyo. There is ONLY one flight from Narita to OKA and that is NH #2159 and that leaves Narita at 1745 hrs daily.  Hardly any flight from USA will arrive at Narita to allow sufficient time to make this connection! Pets will need to clear customs and be transferred by someone to the outgoing NH flight. To hire a pet shipper in Tokyo to do this can cost over $1000 !!

Nearly ALL domestic flights in Japan will leave from Haneda airport.  To hire someone to transfer pet from Narita to Haneda is MOST unrealistic. AND, VERY expensive.  Pets can remain at Narita for more than 24 hrs.  Is this really what you want? This is how it will happen if you use a pet shipper that does NOT know what they are doing!

The United flight leaves SFO at 1130 hrs daily, arrive KIX at 1510 hrs + 1. Then connects to All Nippon 5 hrs later. UA has online arrangements with NH, so the airlines take care of ALL transfers. Pets are also exercised and cared for at KIX.

We are now assisting a military family who has a German Shep in a #500 x-large kennel to go from Jacksonville, FL to OKA ALL air cargo charges, overnight in SFO, and transport from JAX to Orlando for the UA flight, AND, our fee, is LESS than
$2900.

Now, get this !!! Air Animal in Tampa, FL wanted $5600 for this service, as far as Tokyo ONLY.  Not even the charges to get dog to OKA.

Pet Relocation in Spicewood, TX wanted nearly $7000.

Animals Away wanted $4500 to Narita ONLY.

Puppy Travel wanted $3700 to Tokyo.

ALL  above wanted to route via Tokyo.  None offered the route thur Osaka!!!! Can you believe this?

Pet Relocation keeps pushing Continental via Newark, as this is supposed to be the 'pet friendly' way to do it. They suggest other airlines leave pets on the tarmac. This is utter nonsense.

These are the people you are paying super high charges to, and they do NOT know the best routings.

ANOTHER SENSELESS ITEM APPEARED LAST WEEK ON THE PETRELOCATION.COM BLOP

They reported that a military dog from overseas had gotten out of his cage at Dulles
airport and was lost.  Immediately, Pet Relocation, jumped to conclusions, as is quite
common with them.  A case of 'rush to judgement'
They went on to report,"most airlines are not set up to handle live animals appropreately.
(This is a total lie, and misappropriation of true facts)

They go on to say that,"so using airlines that do not have a pet safe policy can lead to
this kind of incidents"  This blop was dated 22 Apr 2010

They accused the airline, Iberia, in this case, of not being pet friendly.  Another bunch
nonsense.  All major airlines are pet friendly.  Pet Relo did NOT go on to say, that most
airlines use ground cargo crews that are not truly associated with the airline.  These
people are often NOT fully trained to handle pets correctly.  It is NOT the airline, but
often these cargo handling people who goof up.
PetRelo has NOT to this time reported that the dog was soon found, very safe.
Without knowing ANY of the facts of escape, PetRelo jumped on Iberia airlines regarding
this misadventure.  I tried to find out what happened and all the people concerned have
been VERY noncooperative regarding what happened.
Very good chance the kennel was NOT properly securred with cable ties, etc.  We really
just do not know.  Pet Relocation should use MUCH better judgement than to accuse
the airline, or others, of anything inappropreate, without knowing the facts.  This simply
sends out the wrong message to the public, and causes MUCH unnecessary anguish
and stress regarding their own pet shipment.
The pet owner, or whoever, presents the pet for shipment, MUST take more responsibility
in making sure the kennel is properly put together, and securred.  Don't blame the
airline, or anyone else, without knowing the facts.....

SHAME on Pet Relocation in Texas for this irresponsible reporting.....
