URGENT HOT NEWS

A very serious situation exists.  Maybe, you and I can fix?

Currently, nearly ALL pets being shipped as cargo to the USA from outside the USA, MUST be shipped by a known shipper, such as a professional (?) pet shipper or freight forwarder.  You can NOT ship your own pets as cargo.  As of now, this does not affect pets being shipped as excess baggage.  This current program is due in large part by TSA, and to a lesser degree due to airline rules.  Shipping live animals is supposed to be a possible security risk!  How ridiculous....The worse part of all this is that this adversely affects our very own military  families and U.S. government employees.  In other words, the very military people who are shedding blood on the battlefields to protect us are NOT being trusted to ship their ownpets!

How cruel and insensitive are the TSA and airlines......Many of these very military heroes are being forced to give up their pet family members...Because they can NOT afford the extreme high prices being charged by these pet shippers, most of whom are foreigners, who hate us in the first place...Several months ago, I sent letters to many U.S. Senators and congressmen and women; veterans groups; newspapers and other news organizations; and others; and with NO replies..... A few years ago, while still a member of IPATA, I tried to get
this so called Professional Organization to try to intervene. They also refused. Of course, this is easy to understand.  To change these rules, and allow people to ship their own pets would interfere with the huge profits of IPATA's very own members.

The U.S. Government, TSA and the airlines are saying:  We trust you to die for us; but we do NOT trust you to ship your own beloved family pets.....  How much longer can we tolerate this practice to continue? ......

Also, many foreign airlines, such as: KLM, Lufthansa, Air France, British Air, Singapore Airlines, and some others, while making Big Bucks on our very soil, are telling you, that to use them you must use a pet shipper to ship from our very own USA.

IPATA will NOT come to your defense, as this would cost BIG profits for many of their members.  There is NO security risk involved here. Pets can still travel as excess baggage.  They are currently inspected at the terminals. Same is done at cargofacilities.

I think it is time to take a stand.

The  International Air Transport Association provides MUCH important info regarding pet shipping......

Here is a direct quote from their page: "NOTE:  IATA does NOT certify, approve, endorse, or sell any
particular pet container, manufacturer, brand, make or model.  Equally so, IATA does NOT offer, solicit,
ENDORSE, or approve any particular pet or puppy transport or relocation service, regardless of whether these
be offered via email or the internet.  Readers SHOULD pay attention to fraudulent offerings that claim the
opposite".

I offer that:  Walter Woolf and Air Animal of Tampa, FL is indeed in violation of this directive.... Several pages
of his website states that he: Walter Woolf and Air Animal are indeed endorsed by IATA ......
He is providing a fraudulent offering........  IATA indeed warns the public to be aware of these actions.....

Air Animal also claims to be endorsed by over 250 airlines.   This is also fraudulent........

Airborne Animals in NJ; Anderson's Pet Express in CA; and Animals Away and others also claim to provide
IATA approved shipping kennels.  These are also fraudulent statements since IATA does NOT approve kennels.

Another fraudulent statement:   Animalland in Atlanta, GA continues on their website to claim they have
offices on 5 continents.   They do NOT.  They have ONLY one office and that is in Atlanta, GA
They are attempting to misleand the public into thinking they have their own offices all over the world.
ALL pet shippers have access to all other pet shippers all over the world.  NO  ONE   else claims that these
other pet shippers are indeed their own offices.......

These above abuses have all been reported to the Ethics Committee of IPATA with NO action being taken......

Dear Ms Rachel Ferris
Rachel, from all reports that I get, you are a VERY decent and intelligent young lady.  Why do you allow your bosses to continue this constant B.S. they provide.
Your company continues to harp on :   Using only pet friendly this, pet friendly that.   Blah blah blah
Some of your material implies that some, if not most pet shippers, use un-friendly flights.  You know that planes MUST be pressurized and temp controlled in the area where pets travel.  There is NO exception to this.  Please.  Be honest......
I have had considerably more experience in this business than has Pet Relocation.  I have had on several occasions problems with CO as well as all other airlines.
Mostly, very rarely does an airline have ONLY their own people act as cargo handlers, etc.  The airline might be great.  But, they do employ or contract with less than perfect cargo (pet) handlers.   Perhaps at a small airport like Austin, where you are mostly concerned, CO might have their own people
I happen to be at a most major air traffic area.  BWI, DCA and IAD   Only at DCA for domestice flights does CO have their own people.  You should see the people handling pets at: DCA International cargo, IAD and BWI   These are NOT  CO people.   They come from all corners of the earth.  Some from places that eat pets.......
The pet acceptance standards are quite high at all of our airports.  But, god only knows, some that have arrived have been accepted at other stations in deplorable conditions.  I have advised Lisa at CO, and others on more than one occasion.  Lack of ventilation on far end of kennels from foreign ports; improper and missing bolts, and other forms of connections; lack of ANY food and water cups; and the list goes on.  Lack of proper labels.
Delays on recovery of pets are our most often complaints.  Yes, at times, even CO......
I do admit that I think Lisa at CO seems to take a more active role in attending to these issues than do the other airlines..... She has helped me out many times.
It is very difficult to contact anyone at other airlines regarding these AVI issues.  So, I do agree with you at this point.
It does seem from many of your blops, that somehow, Kevin, and his crew, does seem to suggest that you folks are special pet agents appointed by God him (her) self.
This is not so.... I have also had special communications with the High Above.....
You are NOT, the only special pet messengers........
You can do MUCH more in a constructive sense, for both the entire industry, and for IPATA, if you would provide a more even handed report, and NOT imply that Pet Relocation in Spicewood, TX might be the ONLY way to go......
I have been accused of being a negative force for the industry....  I do NOT agree.   ALL of my website, and other forms of communication, is directed to over all better handling of pets, and providing the public with a very honest approach and sincere answers to their pet transport questions.  Perhaps when Kevin returns from his military service to his country, as I have, he will then see a different approach to dealing with people.
Thankyou, Rachel
Most Sincerely, Jerry Mishler     www.actionpetexpress.com
